hey all,
Rotary Club is organising a Flag Day on 26 January 2008, and they appeal for our assistance.
Please reply if you are interested in helping out on the day by next Wednesday 7 Nov 2007. For those who are interested, rotary club will inform us the operational details at a later date. Also, if any of you have any innovative ideas to help the Rotary Club raise funds apart from their Flag Day, do reply as well. Thanks.
Below is the information on the flag day:
Foundation of Rotary Clubs (S) Ltd has been assigned a flag day by the National Council of Social Service. The Flag Day is scheduled for Saturday, 26 January 2008.
It is the second time that the Foundation is raising funds through a Flag Day. We hope to raise S$100,000 to defray the expenses incurred by the community service projects under the Foundation of Rotary Clubs (S) Ltd, namely Rotary Family Service Centre and Students' Care Centre.
Annually, the Foundation incurs expenses of more than half a million dollars. Despite partial government subsidy, we rely heavily on public donations to keep our community work going. We are pleased to inform you that we have been closely following the best practice guidelines set by NCSS & MCYS.
In any Flag Day, a considerable manpower is needed to reach out to the community. Students will always continue to be a significant source of manpower and a voluntary participation also benefits their early philanthropy. We would appreciate it if you could mobilize a couple of hundred students, who are eligible to be involved in our Flag Day on Saturday, 26 January 2008.
